Our founder has spent her entire career trying to increase the social and economic power of women and minorities. Her continuous efforts and her unwavering commitment to equity are unparalleled. In fact, advancing equity was one of the primary reasons she left large law firms behind after advising on over $100 billion in transactions. It is rare for a law firm partner to risk breaking out on their own. It is even more unprecedented to see a woman do this. But Dr. T is not most people. She wanted to disrupt the industry by bringing to bear a new paradigm that had at its core, a culture rooted in equity where differences are valued.
The NBD Group, Inc. represents this vision. Not only is our founder and leader a woman, our firm has instituted transparent policies regarding promotion and pay. We have abolished the requirement of a minimum hourly requirement allowing us to focus on clients rather than the clock.
The NBD Group is centered around establishing policies and governance that help women and minorities rise up instead of cycle out.
Too often, the focus of increasing diversity is on how individuals can change to accommodate their organizations. Here, at The NBD Group, we believe in embracing people's differences.
We believe that the fight for equity happens both inside and outside a firm. Here, in addition to giving you a glimpse at what we are doing internally, we have outlined for you some key community initiatives our Founder has developed as well as organizations we support.

Our Founder developed the concept of the Leverage Dinner to provide a more intimate setting for C-suite and senior-level women to connect and help one another generate opportunities. These opportunities can include a number of things, including new business, referrals, board positions, introductions, expertise and new job opportunities.
Each dinner that is hosted brings together a small group of women from different backgrounds and industries to offer a broader connection base from which to generate such opportunities.
